EcoVadis sustainability assessment: ISM awarded the Silver Medal in the CSR Rating

ISM has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal for its extensive efforts towards sustainability in the fields of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, ranking among the top 25 percent of performers assessed by EcoVadis.

EcoVadis provides the world’s leading solution for assessing sustainability in global supply chains and using a global, cloud-based SaaS platform, provides companies with holistic ratings in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
In the process, EcoVadis uses evidence to independently evaluate companies regarding the sustainability issues relevant to their size, location and their sector.

The aim is to provide companies with a reliable assessment as a basis for constantly improving sustainability performance. An international team of experts on sustainability analyses and reviews corporate data to create reliable and comparable ratings.

The EcoVadis method is based on international sustainability standards from the UN (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000), monitored by an international committee of experts.

The evidence-based assessments are merged into easy-to-read scorecards using a points system from zero to one hundred (01–100) and medals (Bronze, Silver and Gold), which, aside from strengths, show potential for improvement, which companies can then use to make their sustainability efforts more targeted. The benefits for the companies assessed are clear: aside from a better understanding of their own CSR performance with assessments in four topical areas (environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement), the company can compare their CSR performance with sectoral and regional benchmarks and have it communicated to business partners via the EcoVadis platform.

ISM was recently awarded the Silver Medal and in the overall assessment, ranks among the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis within its industry. The award is a testimony to the company’s efforts to continually improve all processes in terms of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to ambitiously work towards establishing a transparent, ecologically and socially sustainable supply chain. ISM’s demand for social sustainability is firmly anchored as a commitment within the company’s DNA.

In light of the growing importance of sustainable processes within companies and their independent assessment by EcoVadis in many international markets, gaining the Silver Medal puts ISM already in prime position for future international development.
