German Design Award - The award that visualises success

This year, ALBATROS safety shoes by ISM Heinrich Krämer from Lippstadt were recipients of the German Design Award for the first time, with two models, the ULTRATRAIL GREY LOW and ULTIMATE IMPULSE BLACK LOW, entering the Design Award-winners hall of fame.

Last year, ISM proudly announced that two ALBATROS safety shoe models had won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2019 in the product discipline, industry/tools category. This year, two more models have once again confirmed that the renowned manufacturer’s performance safety footwear is leading the field with regard to design, comfort and functionality. “These awards are a great endorsement of our work, demonstrating that we’re not only a source of innovation in terms of technology, ergonomics and com-fort, but also when it comes to design,” says Christian Güse, Head of Marketing at ISM, describing this renewed success.

Once a year, the German Design Award recognises innovative products and projects, their manufacturers and designers, which are groundbreaking in the German and international design landscape. A high-profile, international jury selects the winners from the nominated products. The Design Award identifies and presents unique design trends, thereby setting future standards. The nominated ALBATROS models won the excellent product design – industry category. With over 1,300 guests from politics, business, design and the media, the award ceremony during Ambiente in Frankfurt am Main in February is one the year’s most prestigious design events. Alongside the prize-giving, the winning products are presented to the public as exhibits at Ambiente and featured in the online winners’ gallery, as well as the German De-sign Award app and catalogue.

[…] An excellently designed shoe that gives feet all-round protection.” – the jury’s statement about the German Design Award WINNER, the ALBATROS safety shoe from its XTS Trail range, underlines its perfect symbiosis of function and design. The S3 safety shoe with a full-grain leather upper and abra-sion resistant textile inserts was specially developed for outdoor use and is available in both men’s and women’s sizes.

The ALBATROS ULTIMATE IMPULSE BLACK LOW also promises excellent performance, with its SAFETY KNIT upper and innovative, sock-like ELASTIC FIT collar that adapts perfectly to the wearer’s foot, thereby offering optimum protection against penetrating dirt, stones or other small parts.

Both models have an IMPULSE.FOAM® midsole, which returns up to 55% of the energy generated during walking to the body with every step, ensuring maximum cushioning, excellent stability and long-lasting comfort.
